the historic importance of Farm Pond Park, once the site for an annual 4th of July celebration held by the Anti Slavery Society pre-Civil War. At one time connected to downtown, the pond has been severed by a CSX freight yard built on top of the abolitionists stage, known as Harmony Grove. The festival's significance lies in its mission to raise awareness about this important amenity, its vital history and the necessity to restore access. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/59371c4415d5db3bd270af79/1497123589432-KGWRXSC2OJ16F4OJRT88/WW_2016_event_red.jpg Media - Winter Wonderland | ArtPOP Series This annual event was hosted in a prominent empty storefront or gallery during the month of December to create a destination for holiday shopping in Downtown Framingham. Beginning yearly on Small Business Saturday, the Holiday Bazaar provided gallery space and retail for small biz vendors and Framingham artists with great visibility, while adding vitality to the sidewalk. The event brought business not only to the pop up, but to its neighboring downtown retailers and restaurants, as well. It also served as a market feasibility study. In 2015, the shop grossed $12K in sales. We took a few parking spaces and turned them into pop up parks -- and people really came downtown in numbers to reclaim asphalt for greenspace! FDRs fabulous partner and downtown business, MediaBoss Television came up with an event to celebrate our spot along the historic race, dubbing it the Six Mile Moment. Providing livestream coverage of the Marathon, MediaBoss is our rock star headliner for this event, which includes high energy music and sign-making, right in the heart of downtown. I designed FDRs ads, including this one for 2017 featuring our downtown small business and social entrepreneur, Brandale Randolph.
